FedEx Partners with Invest India to Boost SME Growth and Global Reach

FedEx has announced a strategic collaboration with Invest India to support the growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in India, enhancing their access to global markets. This partnership is aligned with the Indian government’s ‘One District-One Product’ (ODOP) initiative, which seeks to promote unique products from each of India’s districts.

Through this collaboration, FedEx will leverage its extensive global network and logistics expertise to help SMEs streamline their shipping processes and tap into international markets. The initiative will also focus on building brand visibility and product quality for local artisans, with webinars, workshops, and on-ground events designed to showcase India’s diverse craftsmanship to a global audience.

FedEx will integrate ODOP clusters into its SME Connect platform, offering knowledge sharing, practical training, and business opportunities for small businesses across India. By supporting local producers and artisans, the partnership aims to improve livelihoods while also highlighting India’s rich cultural and commercial diversity.

Kami Viswanathan, president of FedEx Middle East, India Subcontinent, and Africa (MEISA), emphasized the importance of simplifying global logistics for local producers. “Together with Invest India, we are addressing the challenges SMEs face and helping them reach international buyers, which will drive sustainable economic growth and exports.”

Invest India’s Nivruti Rai echoed the sentiment, stating that the collaboration will not only increase the global market access for over 1,200 indigenous products but also help showcase India’s unique craftsmanship on a global stage. “We are excited to work with FedEx to promote the ‘Vocal for Local’ movement and support economic growth by connecting local businesses with the world,” Rai said.

The ODOP initiative aims to foster the global promotion of products from over 750 districts in India, highlighting the country’s diverse industrial heritage while contributing to the economic empowerment of local communities.
