India to Launch BHASKAR Platform to Boost Startup Ecosystem

Union commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal will launch BHASKAR

The Indian government is set to launch the Bharat Startup Knowledge Access Registry (BHASKAR), an interactive online platform designed to strengthen the country’s rapidly growing startup ecosystem. Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will inaugurate the platform on Monday, aimed at furthering Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of turning India’s youth into job creators rather than job seekers.

BHASKAR will centralize and streamline collaboration among key players in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, including startups, investors, mentors, service providers, and regulatory bodies. The platform’s primary goal is to create the world’s largest digital registry for these stakeholders, offering a personalized experience for each with unique BHASKAR IDs. This will improve searchability, simplify interactions, and provide easier access to critical resources, partnerships, and opportunities.

The initiative aligns with the government’s aim to make India a global leader in innovation and entrepreneurship. As part of the government’s Startup India campaign, which was launched in 2016, India has emerged as the third-largest startup ecosystem globally, with over 1.46 lakh registered startups and more than 12 lakh people directly involved in them. BHASKAR is expected to enhance India’s global standing in the startup world by facilitating cross-border collaborations and providing startups with better access to tools and knowledge.

The platform’s features include advanced networking capabilities that will connect startups with potential investors, mentors, and service providers. By consolidating resources, BHASKAR will enable faster decision-making and more efficient scaling for businesses.

In a statement, the government emphasized that BHASKAR would also help address challenges faced by startups, enabling them to innovate solutions for tomorrow’s needs. With its focus on fostering collaboration, the platform is set to play a pivotal role in strengthening India’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and promoting sustainable economic growth
