Jaishankar Highlights Trust and Transparency in the Digital Era at India-France CEO Forum

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar emphasized the importance of trust and transparency in the digital age during his address at the 14th India-France CEO Forum, held on the sidelines of the AI Action Summit in Paris on Tuesday. Speaking to leaders from both nations, Jaishankar stressed that these values are vital for fostering innovation in AI, software development, and cybersecurity.

“The digital era calls for trust and transparency. These are shared values between India and France,” Jaishankar said, referring to the plenary session co-chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron. He noted that the year 2026 would be designated as the India-France Year of Innovation, marking a major milestone in their collaboration.

The minister also highlighted the significant role both India and France can play in shaping the global economy, with an emphasis on diversified production, reliable supply chains, and stronger business partnerships to navigate an increasingly complex world. He pointed out that the ongoing cooperation between the two nations would help inspire the European Union (EU) and contribute to global economic stability.

Jaishankar emphasized that India’s “Make in India” initiative has unlocked new possibilities for bilateral trade and collaboration. He also addressed the ongoing Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations, urging stakeholders to actively engage in shaping the future of defense, manufacturing, and aerospace cooperation between the two countries.

Further, Jaishankar spoke about India’s ongoing clean energy transition, rapid infrastructure development, and the growth of its digital public infrastructure (DPI), reinforcing India’s commitment to shaping a resilient and sustainable future in partnership with France.
